Dynamic Percussion is an authorized dealer for dozens of the most well-known musical instrument manufacturers in the world. We feature both new and used/vintage equipment. Our large selection of drum sets, snare drums, cymbals, hardware, auxiliary percussion, hand drums, sticks & mallets, electronics, parts and accessories make for an unparalleled browsing experience for both new and veteran drummers alike.

There are no high-pressure salesman here, only friendly and knowledgeable drummers. Our staff is happy to answer all your questions and to accommodate any request you may have to try out certain gear. It is our goal to guide every player to make the ideal gear selection based on their abilities, playing style, musical needs and budget. Repairs

Dynamic Percussion operates a full-service repair department on site. Whether you have a simple maintenance issue such as a broken head or you have a complex restoration project, you can bring your gear into Dynamic Percussion for a free repair evaluation and estimate.

Examples of common repairs we perform regularly at Dynamic Percussion:

Head replacement
Drum tuning
Hand drum tucking
Hardware repair (stands, thrones and pedals)
Drum hardware repair (hoops, lugs, brackets, strainers)
Warranty Support (items must be in warranty period with receipt)

We are also experienced in tackling larger projects such as vintage restorations, refinishing and servicing instruments such as xylophones, vibraphones, marimba, orchestral chimes and timpani.

Rentals

Dynamic Percussion is proud to offer an equipment rental service to customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We offer free delivery and pick up throughout Hartford County. Delivery and pickup are available statewide as well as to Massachusetts and Rhode Island for an additional fee.

RENTAL RATES & POLICIES:

1. A deposit may be required at time of rental reservation. This can be done with credit card, cleared check or cash.
2. This deposit will be returned after the equipment is returned in satisfactory condition (within 3-5 working days). Any damage beyond normal wear and tear will need to be paid for out of the deposit.

PROFESSIONAL DRUM SET RATES:
All rates are plus CT tax (if applicable)
Drum set Shell Pack rental includes 4 or 5 piece drum kit (Kick, 1 or 2 Mounted Toms w/holder, Floor Tom w/Legs, Snare Drum)
A. $150.00 per day.
B. $540.00 Weekend Fri. - Mon. (saves 10%)
C. $892.50 per week.(Saves 15%)
D. $840.00 per week for consecutive week rentals. (Saves 20%)

Drum set Complete rental includes 4 or 5 piece drum kit (Kick, 1 or 2 Mounted Toms w/holder, Floor Tom w/Legs, Snare Drum) plus (Ride Cymbal with Boom Stand, Crash Cymbal with Boom Stand, 1 pair of Hi-Hat Cymbals with Stand, 1 Throne, 1 Double Kick Pedal).
A. $200.00 per day.
B. $720.00 Weekend Fri. - Mon. (saves 10%)
C. $1190.00 per week.(Saves 15%)
D. $1120.00 per week for consecutive week rentals. (Saves 20%)

Available kits = Mapex MyDentity Maple (Yellow Wrap w/ Blue Hardware), Yamaha Stage Custom (Natural Birch)

PROFESSIONAL CYMBAL RATE:
All rates are plus CT tax, if applicable. Delivery & pick up available (for a small fee).
A. $60.00 per day or weekend (Fri. - Mon.) for single cymbal.
B. $40.00 per day or weekend (Fri. - Mon.) per cymbal if renting more than one cymbal.

TIMPANI RATE (1-4 DRUMS)
All rates are plus CT tax, if applicable, and include free delivery and pick up within 25 miles: Call for current rates

HARDWARE/PEDALS
All rates are plus CT tax, if applicable. Delivery & pick up available (for a small fee).

Staff

Richard 'Gus' Guastamachio
Owner, Teacher

Richard 'Gus' Guastamachio graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Music (Johns Hopkins University) in 1984 with a degree in Music Education and Percussion Performance. Gus served the nation as senior soloist with the US Army "Old Guard" Fife And Drum Corps, 3rd US Infantry (official escort to The President Of The United States) in Washington, DC from 1982 to 1985. Gus has studied with a long list of great percussionists, including: Tony Ames, Michael Bookspan, Fred Begun, Gary Burton, Gary Chester, Bobby Christian, Paul Cormier, Alan Dawson, Bob Gatzen, Jonathan Haas, Fred Hinger, Frank Hooper, Joe Morello, Ed Saindon, Ed Soph, Scott Stevens, Bill West and Christopher Williams.

Gus is a proud member of Vic Firth Education Team, Percussive Arts Society, Hudson Music TIP Program, Professional Drum Teachers Guild, Sabian Educators Network and Connecticut Music Educators Association/Music Educators National Conference. Gus performs throughout New England as a freelance percussionist.

Gus was recognized for excellence in music education and performance by Cambridge Who's Who in 2012-2018.
